Hola

So, another New Year's resolution gone awry... Oh well, the year isn't over yet, right?  Both of my sweet babies are starting summer camp this week.  It's only two days a week, but maybe I'll get to grocery shop in peace, get some serious laundry done, finally get my sewing room in order, and maybe even update this poor little blog.  I have precisely 2 bazillion photos to edit, including one family portrait of us and Marky Mark.  I can count on one hand the number of times I have been home alone in the last almost six years.  I might even get a haircut!  So next week it is.  Wait, don't they say tomorrow is a disease?  Nah, not when you have two kids, two dogs, and one husband.  Have a sweet Sunday, see y'all on the flip side: )

Smuggled Goods - Part One

So. We moved out of our home. Marky Mark minus The Funky Bunch and the gorgeous Kate Beckinsale are moving in. Well, kind of. Actually, the characters that they are playing in their latest movie Contraband are. Our house is going to be the home of "Chris" and "Kate" in the movie and we are super excited and still in shock about the whole thing. We turned over the keys to Universal Studios last week at 9 am. By 2:30 pm this is how our house looked. All of our stuff moved out or packed into the rooms they aren't using and painters working furiously. I can't wait to see it all set up for the movie! Meanwhile we get to stay at a beautiful carriage house uptown. Somebody pinch me! I'll keep y'all posted on all the excitement:)

A Resolution

Happy New Year!!!  Sooo my resolution is to maintain my blog like I did before I had two roving rovers, maybe if I tell the internet I will actually keep this up!  We had a wonderful Christmas, it was so much since both of the girls were old enough to really get into it!
 Sister Love
Snowman Love
Getting ready for the big guy!
 Christmas morning.
Sooo sweet!  I wish they were always so sugary!

Christmas day with some of our best girls.  Sweet Audrey takes cheese VERY seriously!
Speaking of taking things seriously, check out the walkie talkie. In her stockings.  Don't give her your cell phone, she will put in the same place.
Sweet Aarie Jayne had a blast for her very first Christmas!
Papa getting some Audrey snuggles.
Uncle Poe whooping some candy cane butt when we played minute to win it.
The next day we went here.  To visit all of our favorite Loftins from all across the country.
We were so happy to get to see all of my cousins since we are spread all around now. The girls had a blast playing with their second cousins, Clayton, Laney (who was already snoozing here), and Rayla Bay.

Ketchup

It's been quite a while since I blogged (okay, it's been a year). We've been super busy over here at Casa Lanier.  It started with a giant kitchen renovation (more on that later) and now I have a kindergartner and a very sassy almost three year old.  Oh and a fab new kitchen in which I have a dishwasher (que angelic hallelujah music) and a microwave that works much longer than 20 second intervals.  Since we are crazy loco and my hubs is the bomb , we did pretty much all of if ourselves and we are still recovering!  Any who, I wanted to catch up some of our long lost familia on the latest going ons so this is the first part of a recap of our summer.
June

My baby girls made their dancing (Marley) and stage (Mackenzie) debuts.

This picture just makes me want to sing "all the single ladies, all the single ladies."

Marley and her best bud Audrey were so excited about their first revue!

Serious posing going on here.
They rocked it.

We took Papa to the zoo.

Marley narrowly avoided a t-rex attack.
I love them.
We visited the effalant growth chart.  They won't stop growing.
This guy put on a show.
Then my heart melted.
We read.  The zoo added quotes throughout.
Like every other New Orleanian, the swamp monster is a Brees fan.
Being a little cajun, Marley narrowly avoided an alligator attack as well.  We teach our children how to wrestle reptiles at a very young age down south.
It was determined that Mackenzie has to wear pigtails at all times, no matter what.
We took a ferry ride across the Mighty Mississippi.
And visited the Piazza d'Italia
on our way to catch the streetcar.
As Cornell Landry told us it would be, the ride was breezy.
Cheezzzyyyy
Just in case you can't read that sign, it says that we are the world champions in the Big Easy. (Yeah, that rhymed and yes, I am a dork)
My future front porch.
We headed back downtown.
This streetcar was fast.
We stopped for some Superior margaritas and tacos.  What?  We're from New Orleans.  A streetcar ride is not complete without a margarita break :)
Break over.
We caught a random downpour on our way back to the ferry and ran from awning to awning along the way.
We got soaked.  It was awesome. June was awesome.
The End
